REIKI
Reiki is a healing modality that was lost for a few thousand years and then rediscovered by one man in Japan with great willpower and grace. It is believed that the Buddha and Jesus practiced this form of healing.
Reiki uses an electrical energy, Chi, or Ki, which is the life force energy of every living thing on the planet (which explains how we are all connected) and is felt as pure joy, oneness with all life, and connection with the Goddess/Source.
Reiki relieves pain, speeds the healing process, stops bleeding, relaxes the receiver and balances energy systems, as well as bringing about emotional, mental and karmic healing, including clearing out negative mental patterns held for decades or eons.
People often comment how comforting they find the experience of Reiki to be. An interesting study reported that recipients frequently feel that they are hovering in a threshold state of consciousness, simultaneously aware of their surroundings and deeply indrawn. Some people fall into a deep, sleeplike meditative state. Sometimes the experience of Reiki is dramatic, while for other people, the first session in particular may be uneventful, although they feel somehow better afterward. The most common experience is an almost immediate release of stress and a feeling of deep relaxation.
Reiki is cumulative and even people who don't notice much the first time usually have progressively deeper experiences if they continue. Besides the immediate experience of the Reiki, you may notice other changes that continue to unfold as the day goes on: perhaps stronger digestion, a sense of being more centered and poised and less reactive, and sleeping deeply that night.
Respiration slows during a reiki session and blood pressure lowers so that emotional calming occurs and the nervous system relaxes to allow healing. Whatever else may happen is up to the Goddess and is not predictable. Miracles should not be excluded, in fact they are pretty common with reiki. Reiki can bring about clear improvements in even seemingly hopeless conditions.
Reiki cannot replace medicine, but in many cases it can do things that medicine can’t and do them much more gently and positively.
“Reiki is totally positive and can never cause harm to any living thing, whatever their condition or status. It is valid for use on anyone, no matter how young, old or frail. Elders, infants, and children respond well to Reiki healing, as do pets and plants. If anyone is ill, in pain or in emotional distress, Reiki helps. When someone is dying, Reiki eases the process but will not prevent the person or animal from passing over at the designated time. For the grieving loved-ones, Reiki is a comfort and a help as well.” Diane Stein, Essential Reiki, p. 23
